The more detail you provide, the more useful our response will be. Helpful details include: the brand or model you are interested in, your approximate budget, whether you need a personal or commercial vehicle, your location in Belgium, and your expected timeline. If you are unsure about any of these, just tell us what you do know — we can work from there.

Importing a Chinese car to Belgium follows EU customs rules administered by SPF Finances/FOD Financien (finances.belgium.be). Chinese battery electric vehicles currently face EU additional import duties on top of the standard 10% MFN tariff – rates vary by manufacturer (BYD 27% total, Geely 29.3%, SAIC/MG 45.3% total). Chinese petrol and hybrid vehicles face the standard EU MFN tariff of 6.5% with no additional surcharges. For current tariff rates visit taxation-customs.ec.europa.eu. After import, vehicles must be registered through DIV (mydivsecure.be) and comply with Belgian road regulations. Vehicles intended for use in Brussels or Antwerp must also comply with respective LEZ (Low Emission Zone) rules. Contact us for guidance specific to the brand and model you are considering.
